Are you running g-cpan as root? If so, ~/.cpan will only be used if /path/to/perl/CPAN/Config.pm does not exist - at least that's what the g-cpan man page says... I too am seeing the failure to actually install the module files. It creates the ebuild (oddly, it creates it inside of an existing overlay), runs the build and says it has installed the files, but nothing actually gets installed. please retest with g-cpan 0.16.0 |
