There's not much we can do here. Either downgrade www-client/mozilla-firefox to some 3.0.x version or upgrade www-client/epiphany to some 2.26.x version. Either downgrade www-client/mozilla-firefox to > some 3.0.x version or upgrade www-client/epiphany to some 2.26.x version. > Thanks for replying. The problem is that this breaks updating world for every Gentoo user who uses stable packages and has Gnome and Firefox installed. I would estimate that this is a large number of people. Will Epiphany 2.24 not work with Xulrunner 1.9.1? If not, then why are Xulrunner 1.9.0 and 1.9.1 in the same slot? Shouldn't the slots be 1.8.0, 1.8.1, 1.9.0, 1.9.1, 1.9.2 etc.? I think that a solution other than breaking updating for most users should be found. Some possibilities, let me know which of them aren't possible: 1. Keep Firefox 3.5 unstable until Epiphany 2.26 goes stable 2. Change Epiphany 2.24 to not require Xulrunner 1.9.0 3. Change the slots from x.y to x.y.z same problem with vlc - see bug #282089 Bug 265700 comment 16 predicted this: "firefox 3.5.2 is not stable yet, if you keyworded firefox, you need to keyword epiphany as well. @herd, however, firefox-3.5.2 is going to be stabilized soon (security bugs etc), maybe we should stabilize epiphany independent of the rest of gnome to match?" |
