rss-glx-0.7.6 lists "media-gfx/imagemagick" as a dependency, but if you don't
have at least imagemagick-5.5.7 installed, you'll get the following on
rss-glx'as configure:

  configure: error: Upgrade to ImageMagick 5.5.7 or better

So the dependency should really be more specific about the version.

I have the same problem (on amd64). In the ebuild, the path for xscreensaver is different from mine:
-EBUILD: /etc/X11/app-defaults/XScreenSaver
-MY SYSTEM: /usr/lib64/X11/app-defaults/XScreenSaver
There should be a check for the right path.
