Description Marco Kluth 2009-08-15 06:26:23 UTC
I'm trying to view the category "sys-devel" within the Online Package Database on the gentoo homepage. But I've got an "500 Internal Server Error" in my webbrowser, instead the list of system development software. The complete errormessage is:

<snip>
500 Internal Server Error

The server encountered an unexpected condition which prevented it from fulfilling the request.

Powered by CherryPy 3.0.2
<snap>

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open the gentoo homepage in your webbrowser (URL: http://www.gentoo.org).
2. Click on "Online Package Database" at the left side (URL: http://packages.gentoo.org/).
3. Click on "categories" in the "Links"-section at the right side (URL: http://packages.gentoo.org/categories/).
4. Click on "sys-devel" in the centre of the webpage (URL: http://packages.gentoo.org/category/sys-devel).
Actual Results:
The webbrowser shows an "500 Internal Error".

Expected Results:
A webpage with a list with the recent system development software in the browser.

The information from 'emerge --info' doesn't seem to be necessary / useful for this bug report, so I don't paste it.

My browsers are: Internet Explorer 8.0.6001.18813, Epiphany 2.26.3 and Mozilla Firefox 3.5.2 . The error encounters in all these browsers.

Ah, the addition of lots of prefix keywords caught us in a bad inbetween state for a bit. I've added them to the valid list, and I'm forcing the update.

Thanks a lot, robbat2! So, I'm using the unstable version 4.4.1 of sys-devel/gcc already... gentoo linux is still a very "surprising thing". ;-)
