dev-lang/swig-1.3.39 is installed. Trying against HPPA stable dev-lang/swig-1.3.34 now for good measure, on a hunch as 1.3.39 drops IUSE=tcl and apparently the code isn't properly converted to C++. here on amd64, graphviz-2.20.3 (USE="cairo cgraph examples gnome gtk java jpeg nls perl png python tcl) builds fine both with swig-1.3.36 and with swig-1.3.34 (USE="java perl python tcl tk") anyway, can you post the generated gv_tcl.cpp, or what you see around gv_tcl.cpp:2052? Difference between gv_tcl.n and gv_tcl.cpp
(In reply to comment #3) > here on amd64, graphviz-2.20.3 (USE="cairo cgraph examples gnome gtk java jpeg > nls perl png python tcl) builds fine both with swig-1.3.36 and with swig-1.3.34 > (USE="java perl python tcl tk") With dev-lang/swig-1.3.34 that works fine. The problem only occurs with 1.3.39 as I suspected. (In reply to comment #5) > Created an attachment (id=201061) [edit] > Difference between gv_tcl.n and gv_tcl.cpp In that diff you can see the problem in lines 2388 and 2392. please not a diff. also you diffed against the wrong file. gv.i is the swig interface, from which swic produces gv_tcl.cpp (and gv_python and gv_ruby ...) %typemap(in,numinputs=0) shuld not be in the cpp file swig translates that to the right implementation for the language swig is somewhat failing on your architecture (In reply to comment #6) > With dev-lang/swig-1.3.34 that works fine. The problem only occurs with 1.3.39 > as I suspected. someone should drop hppa from swig-1.3.39 then , or mask tcl USE flag for swig-1.3.39 (In reply to comment #10) > (In reply to comment #6) > > With dev-lang/swig-1.3.34 that works fine. The problem only occurs with 1.3.39 > > as I suspected. > > someone should drop hppa from swig-1.3.39 then , or mask tcl USE flag for > swig-1.3.39 1) Doesn't seem to be arch related at all. 2) IUSE="doc" <-- No tcl USE flag there. No inherits of significance. 3) Created attachment 201070 [details]

(In reply to comment #15) > http://www.nabble.com/graphviz-with-tcl-support-td22018707.html#a22018707 That's confirmation that tcl-8.5, >swig-1.3.38 and graphviz-2.20 .3 do not mix AFAICT. (In reply to comment #16) >=swig-1.3.38 that is. With this combination, building media-gfx/graphviz-2.20.3 fails the same way: astrid ~ # eversion dev-lang/tcl swig dev-lang/tcl-8.4.18 dev-lang/swig-1.3.39 how do newer versions of grpahviz fare? on ~amd64 latest version is fine: $ eix -ce tcl -oe tk -oe swig -oe graphviz [I] dev-lang/swig (1.3.39@14/08/2009) [I] dev-lang/tcl (8.5.7@08/08/2009) [I] dev-lang/tk (8.5.7@08/08/2009) [I] media-gfx/graphviz (2.24.0@14/08/2009) The following installs on mixed x86/~x86: [ebuild R ] dev-lang/tcl-8.5.7 USE="threads -debug" 0 kB [ebuild R ] dev-lang/swig-1.3.38 USE="doc" 0 kB [ebuild R ] dev-lang/tk-8.5.7 USE="threads truetype -debug" 0 kB [ebuild R ] media-gfx/graphviz-2.24.0 USE="cairo doc gtk java nls perl python tcl -examples -lasi -ruby" 0 kB Does this bug persist in the latest version or can it be closed?
