When trying to update perl from -r5 to -r6 (updating world) make says 'You haven't done a "make depend" yet!' just after 'Making x2p stuff' and 'Entering directory [...]/perl-5.8.8-r6/x2p'.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.emerge --update world
2.emerge --update perl

Actual Results:  
"Unable to make". Tried --deep, --sync, nothing.

Expected Results:  
Build dev-lang/perl-5.8.8-r6.

5.8.8-r6 too old and was removed from the tree. I can't reproduce it on new versions of perl.
