when booting stage-3 after install, no console is given, the only option is to login via OpenSSH.  Did someone forget a tty handler? mingetty sgetty?

You should try to re-emerge at least freebsd-lib-7.1-r2 or try to upgrade to the lastest version.

In the stage3 the "/etc/ttys" file doesn't exists.

please try to upgrade or with the latest 7.2 stages
