Bug 277616 – psql fails with ipv6 host after upgrading to glibc 2.9

Upgraded to glibc 2.9, after which I could no longer connect to localhost using psql.

$ psql -h localhost
psql: could not create socket: Address family not supported by protocol

If I comment out the ipv6 localhost entry in /etc/hosts, the command works again.  Like so:

#::1            localhost

I want to note that I am running with "-ipv6" for USE in make.conf.  I'm not sure if that makes a difference.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Upgrade to glibc 2.9.
2. Connect to database using psql with hostname of localhost.
3. Error is returned.

psql (PostgreSQL) 8.3.7
contains support for command-line editing

We need some more info. Did:

::1            localhost

Appear before:

127.0.0.1      localhost

PgSQL supports IPv6 natively. There are no options to pass to it to disable such support.
