Description Benjamin R. Haskell 2009-07-12 00:47:18 UTC
The 'brctl' utility segfaults when a bridge is named 'bridge' (which seemed like a more descriptive name to me than 'br0').

E.g.
# brctl addbr bridge
# brctl show
bridge name bridge id STP enabled interfaces
. zsh: segmentation fault brctl show

This is broken in net-misc/bridge-utils 1.4. I found the solution reported via Debian's bug tracker against their bridge-utils 1.2-1:
