This package doesn't have any license. What should i do here? <hat type="trustees"> Pretty much all of the stuff on CPAN I thought defaulted to "same-as-perl" (== "|| ( Artistic GPL-2 )")? Shouldn't be a problem to include it. Email the upstream author if you really see it as required. Include in the meantime, and change the license later if needed. </hat> (In reply to comment #3) > <hat type="trustees"> > Pretty much all of the stuff on CPAN I thought defaulted to "same-as-perl" (== > "|| ( Artistic GPL-2 )")? "Most, though not all, modules on CPAN are licensed under the GNU Public License (GPL) or the Artistic license and should be stated in the documentation that accompanies the module itself." <http://cpan.org/misc/cpan-faq.html#How_is_Perl_licensed> Most modules have a license statement. But not all. I always try to verify the license statement and if it says "same as perl" i remove LICENSE from the ebuild and use the one from the eclass. > Shouldn't be a problem to include it. We already distribute it as part of squeezecenter. > Email the upstream author if you really see it as required. <http://rt.cpan.org/Ticket/Display.html?id=48997> > Include in the meantime, and change the license later if needed. Done. Thanks. Yes, I've tested that and it's working fine, thanks. Closing. |
