open-vm-tools error log
I created another VM without hardened features. I didin't use the hardened-sources as well. Instead I installed gentoo-sources-2.6.29-r5 and it worked perfectly. So the problem occurs only with hardened toolchain. *** Bug 200376 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** I'm also able to replicate this on hardened-sources-2.6.28-r9 Sorry, I meant hardened-sources-2.6.28-r7 Found an upstream bug filed for open-vm-tools: http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=989708&aid=2559990&group_id=204462 A patch has been attached to the upstream bug report, can either of you test? =sys-devel/gcc-4.3.4 is stable on hardened. open-vm-tools still fails on bug # 200376, but this particular problem is fixed by the newer gcc. Reassigning to vmware@ to decide if they want to incorporate the patch attached upstream or otherwise close as WONTFIX. The pvscsi driver was removed from the open-vm-tools (as of 2010.04.25). It is upstream as of Linux 2.6.33 |
