Nice idea, but the "--asspecified" seems to be a rather unintuitive option name. In fact I can't figure out how it emerged. ;^) Can it be something else, like "--pin-version" or some such? I do not know how valid this is anymore. im not sure either we hope to have xemacs 21.4.11 as the next stable verson and 21.1.14 will be that last version in the 21.1 series assigned *** Bug 5197 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** an idea from Bug 5197 ... when you do `emerge world -up` and a pkg is pinned, you show it with like [P] in the bracketed list ... of course you dont *actually* update it when you run `emerge world -u` ... *** Bug 8859 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** *** Bug 11593 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** just a note on this. its almost official that xemacs-21.1.14 is being phased out and 21.4.11 is going to be the new stable xemacs so people with 21.1.14 will be encouraged to upgrade. should we bother with pinning now that we have /etc/portage/package.[un]mask ? Probably not. You can just mask >app-editors/xemacs-21.1.14 right? |
