Description Diego Elio Pettenò (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-07-02 11:11:21 UTC
Check the attached log, the problem is that the totalview directory does not have a configure.ac but a configure.in:

/var/tmp/portage/sys-cluster/lam-mpi-7.1.4-r1/work/lam-7.1.4/share/totalview/configure.in

and is thus not rebuild by the current _unpack. The solution would be to use -or -name configur.in, but this causes romio to rebuild too (and it probably should, btw), which does not rebuild with autoconf 2.63 (quoting problem):

aclocal.m4:216: error: m4_defn: undefined macro: _m4_divert_diversion
aclocal.m4:216: the top level
autom4te-2.63: /usr/bin/m4 failed with exit status: 1

I can help to find the solution, but not today, sorry!

Well totalview is disabled now, see #245439.

In all honesty, lam is on its last legs anyways. I'll gladly accept patches to fix romio (especially as they might be relevant to openmpi or mpich2) but I don't see any reason to target lam's implementation.

Thanks for the report.
