Hi Folks...

Audacious consistently pegs the CPU @ 100%. Only one core tho' It begins when you start playing, not when the program starts. The CPU goes right back to idle after ending audacious2.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start Audacious
2. load a file
3. Hit play

Audacious 2.1 alpha will be hitting experimental this weekend (11 Jun 2009)

Please reopen this bug report when you have figured out what is causing the problem, and after you have replaced the question mark in the Summary with the version you experience this with.

GZipped Strace of high CPU usage Audacious.

I am experiencing the same issue with media-sound/audacious-2.4.1 and 2.4.0 on both amd64 an x86 arch.
Problem is, it is not really reproducible, there are several possibilities:
1. CPU usage stays high all the time.
2. CPU usage is high and drops to normal after some time (timeframe differs).
3. CPU usage ist normal from the start.
High CPU usage is only high while playing. Hitting pause or stop imidiately stops CPU usage.

Here is a strace of a audacious2 running on 120% CPU for several seconds. Sorry for the gzip, but file would have been larger than 2000kb.
Could not reproduce a all-time-100% audacious in strace somehow.
