Fixed in 1.0.0. I haven't checked if my patch is backportable.
Comment 3 Mounir Lamouri (volkmar) (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-07-11 16:20:39 UTC
0.9.7 has to be used only for stable configurations (only amd64).
Stable configurations shouldn't use gnutls-2.8.1.

When gnutls-2.8.1 goes stable and 0.9.7 is still in the tree, reopen this bug.

I'm not sure if this applies, but I had gnutls-2.8.3 installed, and had to re-install btg=0.9.7, which failed per the original report (couldn't find libgnutls-config).

I'd vote to re-open the bug since 2.8.3 is now stable (x86) and we're still seeing this problem.

I'd go with btg=1.0.0-r1, but it showed some unfriendly behaviors on my system when I installed as ~x86.

Comment 5 Mounir Lamouri (volkmar) (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-10-13 22:09:31 UTC
You're right Sam, the bus has to be reopened.
As only amd64 has btg stabilized, I will ask them to stabilize latest release.
Comment 6 Samuli Suominen (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-10-27 11:13:57 UTC
btg-0.9.7 went /dev/null.
