gnome-extra/gnome-media-2.24.0.1-r1 fails to install a proper icon for gnome-volume-control in KDE's Settings and Multimedia menu

Please provide the output of:
$ desktop-file-validate /usr/share/applications/gnome-volume-control.desktop

Could you also check if this is not related to bug #267018 ?

CCing kde since they are as concerned as us.

The output of the validate command is:

/usr/share/applications/gnome-volume-control.desktop: warning: key "Encoding" in group "Desktop Entry" is deprecated

Correct me if I'm wrong, but bug #267018 should affect any GNOME application under KDE, right? I have a few GNOME specific apps in my KDE environment (Cheese, GNOME Mplayer) and they look unaffected.

then your icon lookup is broken, please check what is in bug #267018 and tell us if it fixes your problem.
