I am not quite sure I understand the bug. USE="bindist" emerge xfree should install xfree, does it? When you do it without bindist, it will want to merge cabextract since it will try to install the Microsoft Web fonts. Is X merging? If not, what error do you see? Rereading this report, it does sound like xfree got installed and what you saw is expected behavior, so I'm closing this bug. Moving these so we can remove the "Install CD" component from "Gentoo Linux". I apologize to everyone for this spam, but according to the bugzilla developers, this is the only reasonable way to do this. |
