The bug is nearly one year old and nobody wants to add the single line into the ebuild - you made the last changes at zapping, maybe you could close the bug? Thanks! This package obviously needs some maintainer, re-assigned. Version 0.6.6 is very ancient (2003 ancient) and doesn't even seem to compile anymore. A lot of code has changed compared to the most recent compilable version, 0.7, to be worth backporting fixes. I fixed the missing dep in version 0.7. I'll stabilize it along with rte-0.5.6 in a while and remove older versions to fix this bug. Please, stabilize something that actually compiles at least. TIA. 0.7 compiles, but I had a problem getting it to work (config files). Anyway, perhaps it is better that I shoot this back to maintainer-needed. True, zapping versions < 0.10 are barely functional, but the 0.10 series are work very well. This ebuild works well for me. This is the newest release from zapping sourceforge. I guessed a little on renaming zapping-0.10cvs6 -> zapping-0.10_rc6.
IMO, this is the best TV player I have found. It would be good to keep it in portage.
Sorry about that commented src_unpack(). You can delete that. Done.
Ok I'm testing this out (I happened to have a TV tuner card). If it works, I'll fix up the package and close this as FIXED. zapping-0.10_rc6 is in portage and works here If you have any trouble please file a bug that blocks this one. Otherwise stable in 30 days so this can be closed. Actaully I'm going to rescind this and keep it unstable since it has no maintainer; although I've tested it, keeping it in unstable shields the stable tree from what could become a broken package. Err, then at least drop the stable keyword from a version that doesn't compile at all. done zapping-0.10_rc6 has been working on my machine. After I had to set it up from scratch because of a hdd-crash zapping is compiling alright, but if I start it Gnome (first 2.16 and now 2.18) crashes immediately down. I don't know why this happens and how to trace the problem... ps: and I don't know if this is the right place to write it down. |
