Bug 274981 – media-libs/mesa-7.4.3 crashing with 3D-acceleration

Intel 965GM, XOrg-Server 1.6.1.901-r3, video-intel-2.7.1


media-libs/mesa-7.4.2 was working, after updating to media-libs/mesa-7.4.3 causes fullscreen 3d -apps to crash xorg (I could not log into KDE 4.2 with desktop effects on)

I attached the last lines of my XOrg.log with the crash.


This probally should be submitted to upsteam, but I do not have a freedesktop account.

There is a fix in the mesa git for this. I shall roll an ebuild for it in a bit:

Patched ebuild to bring in null ptr check

This patched 7.4.3 ebuild will bring commit 1dbbc39f48ce5f9aa63ab42930b14e48938b326f in from the mesa tree. It will fix your crash but unfortunately I saw another crash later on (reported in upstream). If you can test this build and give feedback that would be useful.

Add another commit mentioned on upstream bug.

Commit 4b8cd0b0ad48c3b0129451924f7461ffcbbc8597 also in the queue for 7.4.4 which is due soon-ish?

7.4.4 is now in portage. Seems to work fine for me, please give it a shot :)
