Description Hinrik Örn Sigurðsson 2003-08-28 02:33:19 UTC
I had this problem the other day, that DMA wasn't enabled automatically on my
S-ATA disk with the 2.6 kernel, but I could use the same settings as in 2.4 just
by using hdparm. So I just use the /etc/init.d/hdparm script to automatically
set those when I boot, but since the script isn't processed soon enough, I still
get the warning telling me that fsck will be slow because DMA is turned off(and
it is a bit slow). Is there any way to make Gentoo check /etc/init.d/hdparm
before fsck-ing filesystems?
