Please include the output from "emerge --info". Also, could you please provide a complete log entry from starting the program up, including the crash, to when it's finishes. Also, please mention the versions of vdr and vdr-dvd you were using and whether the issue occurs with different DVDs or just a particular DVD. Here we go with emerge --info Portage 2.1.6.13 (default/linux/x86/2008.0, gcc-4.3.2, glibc-2.8_p20080602-r1, 2.6.28-gentoo-r5 i686) ================================================================= System uname: Linux-2.6.28-gentoo-r5-i686-VIA_Nehemiah-with-glibc2.0 Timestamp of tree: Wed, 17 Jun 2009 21:00:01 +0000 distcc 3.1 i686-pc-linux-gnu [disabled] ccache version 2.4 [disabled] app-shells/bash: 3.2_p39 dev-java/java-config: 2.1.7 dev-lang/python: 2.5.4-r2 dev-util/ccache: 2.4-r7 dev-util/cmake: 2.6.2-r1 sys-apps/baselayout: 1.12.11.1 sys-apps/sandbox: 1.6-r2 sys-devel/autoconf: 2.13, 2.63 sys-devel/automake: 1.7.9-r1, 1.8.5-r3, 1.9.6-r2, 1.10.2 sys-devel/binutils: 2.18-r3 sys-devel/gcc-config: 1.4.1 sys-devel/libtool: 1.5.26 virtual/os-headers: 2.6.27-r2 ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="x86" CBUILD="i686-pc-linux-gnu" CFLAGS="-march=c3-2 -O2 -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer" CHOST="i686-pc-linux-gnu" CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc" CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK="/etc/ca-certificates.conf /etc/env.d /etc/env.d/java/ /etc/fonts/fonts.conf /etc/gconf /etc/revdep-rebuild /etc/sandbox.d /etc/terminfo /etc/udev/rules.d" CXXFLAGS="-march=c3-2 -O2 -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer" DISTDIR="/usr/portage/distfiles" FEATURES="distlocks fixpackages parallel-fetch protect-owned sandbox sfperms strict unmerge-orphans userfetch" GENTOO_MIRRORS="http://distfiles.gentoo.org http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/distributions/gentoo" LANG="en_GB.UTF-8" LDFLAGS="-Wl,-O1" LINGUAS="en" MAKEOPTS="-j2" PKGDIR="/usr/portage/packages" PORTAGE_CONFIGROOT="/" PORTAGE_RSYNC_OPTS="--recursive --links --safe-links --perms --times --compress --force --whole-file --delete --stats --timeout=180 --exclude=/distfiles --exclude=/local --exclude=/packages" PORTAGE_TMPDIR="/var/tmp" PORTDIR="/usr/portage" PORTDIR_OVERLAY="/usr/local/portage/layman/berkano /usr/local/portage/layman /usr/local/initng-portage" SYNC="rsync://rsync.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage" USE="X a52 aac aalib acl aio alsa avi berkdb bigpatch bzip2 cccam cle266 cli cmdctrl cmdreccmdi18n cmdsubmenu cracklib crypt cutterlimit cutterqueue cuttime dbus ddepgentry deltimeshiftrec directfb divx4linux dolby-record-switch dolbyinrec dri dts dv dvb dvbplayer dvbsetup dvd dvdarchive dvdchapjump dvdread dvlfriendlyfnames dvlrecscriptaddon dvlvidprefer encode exif fbcon ff-card ffmpeg ffmpeg12mc fortran freetype gdbm gif gpm iconv ieee1394 imagemagick imlib iptv ipv6 isdnlog java java6 jpeg jumpplay liemikuutio lirc lircsettings livebuffer lnbshare lzo mad mainmenuhooks matroska midi mmx mpeg mpeg4 mplayer mudflap ncurses nls nptl nptlonly ogg opengl openmp osdmaxitems pam pcre perl pinplugin png pppd projectx python quicktime readline reflection rtc sdl session settime setup shutdown_rewrite slang sndfile softosd sortrecords sourcecaps spl sse ssl submenu subtitles svg svga switchtimer symlink syncearly sysfs tcpd theora tiff timercmd timerinfo truetype ttxtsubs type1 unichrome unicode usb v4l v4l2 validinput via vidix vorbis wareagleicon win32codecs x264 x86 xine xorg xrandr xv xvid xvmc yaepg yv12 zeroconf zlib" ALSA_CARDS="ali5451 als4000 atiixp atiixp-modem bt87x ca0106 cmipci emu10k1 emu10k1x ens1370 ens1371 es1938 es1968 fm801 hda-intel intel8x0 intel8x0m maestro3 trident usb-audio via82xx via82xx-modem ymfpci" ALSA_PCM_PLUGINS="adpcm alaw asym copy dmix dshare dsnoop empty extplug file hooks iec958 ioplug ladspa lfloat linear meter mmap_emul mulaw multi null plug rate route share shm softvol" APACHE2_MODULES="actions alias auth_basic authn_alias authn_anon authn_dbm authn_default authn_file authz_dbm authz_default authz_groupfile authz_host authz_owner authz_user autoindex cache dav dav_fs dav_lock deflate dir disk_cache env expires ext_filter file_cache filter headers include info log_config logio mem_cache mime mime_magic negotiation rewrite setenvif speling status unique_id userdir usertrack vhost_alias" DVB_CARDS="tda1004x ttpci" ELIBC="glibc" INPUT_DEVICES="keyboard mouse evdev" KERNEL="linux" LCD_DEVICES="bayrad cfontz cfontz633 glk hd44780 lb216 lcdm001 mtxorb ncurses text" LINGUAS="en" LIRC_DEVICES="serial" USERLAND="GNU" VIDEO_CARDS="via" Unset: CPPFLAGS, CTARGET, EMERGE_DEFAULT_OPTS, FFLAGS, INSTALL_MASK, LC_ALL, PORTAGE_COMPRESS, PORTAGE_COMPRESS_FLAGS, PORTAGE_RSYNC_EXTRA_OPTS The following versions are installed: vdr => media-video/vdr-1.6.0_p2-r3 vdr-dvd => media-plugins/vdr-dvd-0.3.7_pre20071113-r1 The crash occurs direct when starting the plugin, so it does not have any time to scan for the dvd... Can you please try it when using another skin, and disable vdr-skinenigmang while testing. For better analysis a backtrace can be helpful. http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/qa/backtraces.xml Sorry for my "small delay" in answering to this thread... I disabled vdr-skinenigmang (from /etc/conf.d/vdr.plugins), and used soppalusikka instead. Same result, vdr crashes. Should i uninstall skinenigmang completely? I don't see that this would make any difference. I would gladly provide a backtrace, but unfortunately i have no clue in how to do this.. Rene, is the crash problem still in media-plugins/vdr-dvd-0.3.7_pre20090106 ? I have just managed to play several DVDs using a minimalist up-to-date set-up (vdr-2.2.0, vdr-dvd-0.3.7_pre20090106-r1, vdr-remote-0.7.0, vdr-xineliboutput-2.0.0_p20150220; all but the last one are keyworded stable on amd64) so I guess one way or the other, the problem has been fixed. |
