By the way, Maxima 5.9.0 compiles just fine (just tried it now) so this is probably a problem with whatever changed in -r1 serves me right for using ~x86 :-) Hi Shahar. Thanks for a report. Please retest the ebuild. I found that this bug gets triggered by --enable-clisp switch. This is still a problem, but I made few improvements to the ebuild - now it supports any combination of cmucl, clisp and gcl with cmucl used by default. Therefore you should be Ok if you just emerge maxima now. In order to turn on support for gcl, clisp (problemmatic) and cmucl just specify the corresponding (local) use flag before emerging... Just don't add clisp for now ;) (we'll see about it soon), otherwise you should be fine with any combination of gcl/cmucl. George It works now (shouldn't it be incremented to -r2?) thanks George... now I just need a LISP bible :-) I still get the same error. I deleted all distfiles and the reemerged maxima so that I get the fixed version but the error remained. root@inspiron heimdall # emerge info Portage 2.0.49-r3 (default-x86-1.4, gcc-3.2.3, glibc-2.3.2-r1, 2.4.20-gentoo-r6) ================================================================= System uname: 2.4.20-gentoo-r6 i686 Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 Mobile CPU 1.40GHz ccache version 2.2 [enabled] ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="x86 ~x86" AUTOCLEAN="yes" CFLAGS="-march=pentium4 -O3 -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer" CHOST="i686-pc-linux-gnu" COMPILER="gcc3" CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc /var/qmail/control /usr/kde/2/share/config /usr/kde/3/share/config /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xkb /usr/kde/3.1/share/config /usr/share/texmf/tex/generic/config/ /usr/share/texmf/tex/platex/config/ /usr/share/config" CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK="/etc/gconf /etc/env.d" CXXFLAGS="-march=pentium4 -O3 -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer" DISTDIR="/usr/portage/distfiles" FEATURES="autoaddcvs sandbox ccache" GENTOO_MIRRORS="ftp://ftp.easynet.nl/mirror/gentoo/ http://ftp.easynet.nl/mirror/gentoo/ ftp://gentoo.inode.at/source/ ftp://ftp.tu-clausthal.de/pub/linux/gentoo/" MAKEOPTS="-j2" PKGDIR="/usr/portage/packages" PORTAGE_TMPDIR="/var/tmp" PORTDIR="/usr/portage" PORTDIR_OVERLAY="" SYNC="rsync://rsync.de.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage" USE="x86 apm avi crypt cups encode gif jpeg libg++ mad mikmod mmx mpeg ncurses nls pdflib png quicktime spell truetype xml2 xmms xv zlib alsa gdbm berkdb slang readline arts tetex aalib svga tcltk java guile ruby mysql X sdl gpm tcpd pam libwww ssl perl python imlib oggvorbis gtk qt kde motif opengl ldap cdr apache2 clisp dvd emacs ethereal flash gtk2 icc icc-pgo imagemagick imap innodb jack jikes junit kerberos krb4 lcd lcms maildir mbox music offensive pcmcia pnp samba sasl slp socks5 sse tiff transcode usb videos wmf wxwindows xosd xvid -oss -foomaticdb -gnome -esd" |
