Bug 273745 – gnome-base/gdm-2.20.9-r1: New Login disappeared from menu

After a reboot, I found out the "New Login" menu entry disappeared from the Applications -> System Tools menu.
I did some research and found the corresponding .desktop file which looks OK.

After copying /usr/share/gdm/applications/gdmflexiserver.desktop to /usr/share/applications, the "New Login" entry came back so I guess the .desktop files in /usr/share/gdm/applications should be placed somewhere else.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Login using GNOME
2. Try to start another X-server using the Applications -> System Tools -> New Login menu entry

Actual Results:  
The "New Login" menu entry does not appear in the Applications -> System Tools menu.

Expected Results:  
The "New Login" menu entry should appear in the Applications -> System Tools menu.

do you have kdelibs installed ? If so you might want to try installing xdg-utils-1.0.2-r3. I shall ask for stabilization of this stuff soonish.

No, I do not have kdelibs installed.
And xdg-utils is already installed.

I did suggest you install a specific revision of xdg-utils, please try that.

I thought the suggestion was if I have kdelibs installed which I don't.
But for your information, xdg-utils-1.0.2-r3 is already marked stable for the regular archs and is installed here too.

ok, you need at least gdm-2.20.10. Stabilization bug is #278179.
