Same here on stable AMD64. Over the weekend I upgraded my box to the recently stablized qt-4.5.1 and KDE-3.5.10. After that my KDE Splash start-up theme didn't work any more. I tried to re-install the theme or add a new one but I always get the "moodin complement i s not installed" error. I already had ~ksplash-engine-moodin-0.4.2-r1 installed, and everything was working OK under KDE 3.5.9. The downgrading of it to the stable 0.4.2 version didn't solve the problem, nor did a re-emerging of kde-base/ksplashml-3.5.10. Exactly the same problems here, since the upgrade to kde 3.5.10 ksplash-engine-moodin-4.2 and 4.2-r1 don't work anymore. same problem with 0.4.2 since major kde-3.5.10 uprgade on x86 32bit waiting for solution, thanks This is pretty recent, something that got upgraded in the last two weeks or so. I have got the same problem: ksplashml = 3.5.10; ksplash-engine-moodin = 0.4.2. (In reply to comment #5) > I have got the same problem: ksplashml = 3.5.10; ksplash-engine-moodin = 0.4.2. > same here: upgraded to KDE 3.5.10 and the splash stopped working. getting "This theme requires the plugin Moodin which is not installed" in the kcontrol->appearance & themes->splash screen configuration screen. have oneshotted ksplash-engine-moodin-0.4.2. Menahem Could this have something to do with startkde? Okay, I got this working again but it will not work with the ebuild. I put the sources in /usr/src, then I had to do ln -s /usr/kde/3.5/bin/kde-config /usr/bin/kde-config now configure the sources with ./configure --prefix=/usr/kde/3.5 now do make && make install now remove the symlink I don't know why the ebuild screws up but maybe someone can research this more Created attachment 195425 [details]

This is an overlay ebuild which makes the temporary symlink which the package needs, configures it with --prefix=/usr/kde/3.5 and removes the symlink afterwards.
Works Perfectly!!! I guess the need to insert kde-config in /usr/bin gave you a clue as to what the euild problem was. Super!! Lets hope we can get this into portage real soon!! The new ebuild works perfectly. None issues until now. I reemerged the package like a week ago and have no problems until now. Thx *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 279716 *** |
