Description Vytenis Sodaitis 2009-06-01 09:13:13 UTC
Dolphin is crashing instead of showing tooltips with qt-gui-4.5.1-r2. If used with qt-gui-4.5.1-r1 - it works OK. But then kdelibs and kwin refuse to compile. Also system tray is messed up if plasma is compiled against qt-gui-4.5.1-r2, if i compile it against 4.5.1-r1 - everything's OK. Oh, my qt-gui is compiled with lib32 USE flag.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Compile qt-gui-4.5.1-r2 with lib32 USE flag
2. Activate option "Tooltips" in Dolphin
3. Hover on some file with the mouse

Actual Results:
It crashed

Expected Results:
IT should have shoved the tooltip

@Qt:
ideas?
I confirm the bug.
Comment 2 Davide Pesavento (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-06-01 14:24:01 UTC
I can't reproduce. Which tooltips are you referring to?
Btw, there's no lib32 USE flag in x11-libs/qt-gui.
Comment 3 Tomáš Chvátal (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-06-01 14:33:54 UTC
Dont bother, just use that qt and let it show thumbmail of image.
I have sigsegv all the time.
Comment 4 Davide Pesavento (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-06-01 14:43:29 UTC
Nope, I can't reproduce, sorry. It'd be nice to have a stack trace of the crash.
Comment 5 Vytenis Sodaitis 2009-06-01 16:15:59 UTC
I was using qt ebuilds from multilib-overlay, i think they are the same as in qting-edge, just with lib32. By the way, i removed raster, nas and nis useflags, and now it's working OK. I think it's because of the raster, isn't it?
Comment 6 Ben de Groot (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-06-01 21:23:01 UTC
Would you think?

    if use raster; then
ewarn "WARNING: You have enabled raster backend rendering engine."
ewarn "This is a new feature and may lead to composite problems"
ewarn "screen corruption and broken qt4 or kde4 applications. "
ewarn "If you encounter such problems please"
ewarn "remove 'raster' use flag and re-compile qt-gui before"
ewarn "filling a bug on gentoo bugzilla."
Comment 7 Tomáš Chvátal (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-06-01 21:30:39 UTC
No raster here, try again.
Comment 8 Davide Pesavento (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-06-03 21:48:58 UTC
We really need some kind of readable backtrace...
