diff between the original ebuild and the optimized ebuild

Description Assaf Berg 2009-05-19 06:02:09 UTC
I tried to emerge mtree the other day and was suprised to see that not only it downloads the entire pkgsrc archive (understandable) but also unpacks the whole thing (which is more than 500 MB, where I stopped it).

This is not really a bug but very inefficient, when a small change to the ebuild can make sure only the relevant parts of the archive are unpacked.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge mtree
2.
3.

No one is maintaining this? It's such a small diff (see attachment)

Latest mtree tarballs are very small.
