When built with GCC 4.4, inkscape crashes with the following error:

Emergency save activated!
Emergency save completed. Inkscape will close now.
If you can reproduce this crash, please file a bug at www.inkscape.org
with a detailed description of the steps leading to the crash, so we can fix it.
Segmentation fault

This bug is described here, with a patch attached:

After applying the patch and rebuilding inkscape, the error no longer occurs.
