After around 15 years of linux I've been rootkited for first time. Some files all around my file system had strange ownerships which prevented me -even as root- from erasing them. I had to remove them using debugfs. Now everything is fine. You are right, several other packages failed to merge because of this. Some of them due to stalled files in /var/tmp/portage, some others failed on the merge stage because they couldn't overwrite the old files. Sorry for all the hassle but I couldn't find any evidence in the rkhunter output nor the rest of my logs so this was the last thing I expected to happen. Thanks. |
