Description Nicholas Vinen 2009-05-03 15:04:52 UTC
I just replaced Firefox 3.0.9 with Firefox 3.0.10. Before that it was working fine. Now, if I launch a fresh Firefox instance and press CTRL+Y (Downloads) a window appears but it has zero size. If I find it and expand it, it's blank. Clicking on a download link results in similar behaviour. The only way I can download a file is right click and save target as. So far everything else seems to be working, it's just the downloads that are broken.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install Firefox 3.0.10
2. Launch Firefox
3. Press CTRL+Y

Actual Results:
Invisible/zero size blank window appears.

Expected Results:
Download window should appear.

Athlon 64 running in 32 bit x86 mode, 4GB RAM, nVidia GeForce 8600GT.

Does not happen for me on amd64. Please try again with a clean profile (move ~/.mozilla).
Comment 2 Nicholas Vinen 2009-05-03 19:16:33 UTC
Renamed ~/.mozilla but it didn't seem to make any difference - pressing CTRL+Y brings up a window with the title "Firefox", no content and zero size.

The ebuild configuration is:

www-client/mozilla-firefox-3.0.10 USE="gnome java xulrunner -bindist -custom-optimization -dbus -iceweasel -mozdevelop -restrict-javascript -startup-notification" LINGUAS="en_GB -af -ar -be -bg -bn -bn_IN -ca -cs -cy -da -de -el -en -en_US -eo -es -es_AR -es_ES -et -eu -fi -fr -fy -fy_NL -ga -ga_IE -gl -gu -gu_IN -he -hi -hi_IN -hu -id -is -it -ja -ka -kn -ko -ku -lt -lv -mk -mn -mr -nb -nb_NO -nl -nn -nn_NO -oc -pa -pa_IN -pl -pt -pt_BR -pt_PT -ro -ru -si -sk -sl -sq -sr -sv -sv_SE -te -th -tr -uk -zh -zh_CN -zh_TW" 0 kB

This is very strange, now that I switched the computer off then on again it seems to be working again. I also appear to have lost many of my settings. Why would I have to reboot after a Firefox upgrade?

I presume this isn't reproducible anymore? Please reopen if that's not the case.
