Well, linking to an external uulib would be trivial. (The copy is NOT modified btw.) However... uulib only installes a static archive (.a), which is built without -fPIC. Yeah. /usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/4.8.3/../../../../x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/bin/ld: /usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu/4.8.3/../../../../lib64/libuu.a(uulib.o): relocation R_X86_64_32S against `msgnames' can not be used when making a shared object; recompile with -fPIC Need to fix *that* first.
