Thanks ok with gnome-mount --device /dev/sdb1 and gnome-mount --device /dev/cdrom devices are mounted and shown in desktop correctly so what should i do to force automounting in gnome? hum, next guess would be checking that hal is not dead and/or checking /var/log/messages for eventual dbus complaints. Other than that I've no idea why it would fail. Please get back to us. i have resigned to search what was the problem , i had reinstaled emerge -eav system && world -> brute force worked |
