Bug 265924 – kde-4.2.2 applications folde empty + kmenuedit no go

Unmasked kde-4.2.2 locally and upgraded.  Upon X restart, Application launcher has problems - mainly

1.  Applications 'folder' is empty
2.  systemsettings missing from 'Computer'
3.  'Favourites' shows the filenames for apps there, e.g. mozilla-firefox-3 and konqbrowser, not Firefox or Web Browser (iirc) as it was.
4.  Right-click on Application Launcher icon does not offer option to edit the menu

In addition, running kmenuedit from konsole brings up the menu editor, but it only contains one folder, 'Graphics', which is empty.

I realise unmasking may have been premature but there is already some talk of this on the forums, so I'm posting this bug so it hopefully gets fixed before unmasking for the general populace.

Additional - One user on the forums (boris64) has been using 4.2.2 from the overlay no problems, and switched to unmasking from the main tree after it went in, and is seeing this too.

Could you post the fix so I can rebuild the offending app and post the fix on the forum.  TIA.
