# emerge cowsay bash-completion -vp These are the packages that would be merged, in order: Calculating dependencies... done! [ebuild R ] games-misc/cowsay-3.03-r1 USE="bash-completion" 0 kB [ebuild R ] app-shells/bash-completion-1.0-r1 0 kB thx for report. I'll review soon. In the meantime can you determine which file is more correct (or identical) ? they are different. the old file was added by Aaron Walker on 06 Feb 2005. the new one was committed for bash-completion 1.0 by Guillaume Rousse on 04 Feb 2009. Guillaume is also a cowsay package maintainer for Mandriva. i don't know much about bash-completion scripts but i'd guess that the new one is best for bash-completion 1.0. (Adding games@ for games-misc/cowsay.) Games team: I would recommend that we create a revision bump for games-misc/cowsay to not include the bash completion module. Both implementations look similar and to the same level of correctness. But, it is just easier if upstream bash-completion maintains a module instead of our local copy in FILESDIR. I can do this if you want. (In reply to comment #5) > Games team: I would recommend that we create a revision bump for > games-misc/cowsay to not include the bash completion module. Stable bash-completion does not collide with stable cowsay. ~arch bash-completion does not collide with ~arch cowsay. I will handle the stablereq for cowsay when I do bash-completion. Thanks for the input, Ivan. *** Bug 266112 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** |
