I'd say because it's provided by MTAs like postfix: # qfile -Cv /etc/pam.d/smtp mail-mta/postfix-2.5.5 (/etc/pam.d/smtp) Let's see what mailbase maintainers think about this. Then this bug is the bug of exim ebuild. # epm -ql exim | grep smtp # Then this wass the bug of exim ebuild. Since we need this file if we use mta and every mta has dependency on mailbase, I think /etc/pam.d/smtp should be installed by mailbase not by particular mta. postfix just does: pamd_mimic_system smtp auth account is there any other mta that installs /etc/pam.d/smtp ? if not, having mailbase do it prob makes sense. exim does: pamd_mimic system-auth exim auth account I guess that could be rewritten as: pamd_mimic_system exim auth account e.g. (system-auth,) auth and account are common. |
