Can't fix this one until we find out where Mike moved the images to. Our existing link was to d.g.o/~vapier/arm/netboot-sidewinder. Mike, can you stick 'em back, or provide us with an updated link? i'd forgotten about that ... at any rate, i reorganized my ~ so that it's all under ~vapier/pics/ http://dev.gentoo.org/~vapier/pics/arm-netwinder/ ? (In reply to comment #2) > i'd forgotten about that ... > > at any rate, i reorganized my ~ so that it's all under ~vapier/pics/ > > http://dev.gentoo.org/~vapier/pics/arm-netwinder/ ? I meant the tftp boot images, dude! Check the link in this bug's URI -- it's to the paragraph that says you need the Netboot tftp image to boot the NetWinder. Not your (interesting) pic collection. ;) all the arm files should be under: http://dev.gentoo.org/~vapier/arm/ (In reply to comment #4) > all the arm files should be under: > http://dev.gentoo.org/~vapier/arm/ Mike, those files are quite different (and outdated?) from what the handbook has. Please double-check to see if there should be something newer. The instructions in your WTF-IS-THIS file and the netboot-netwinder instructions in the handbook are different enough that I can't see an easy way to reconcile them. I'm afraid we may need a patch from ya. :) (In reply to comment #5) Nudge nudge. Been over a year, and the NetWinder netboot images are still missing. I googled around for some, but I haven't had any luck, and don't know that if any not produced for/by Gentoo could really be trusted. I suppose what we really should do is just integrated/replace large parts of hb-install-arm-medium.xml with the Beagle/Sheeva/etc. guides armin76 wrote, but that would take days or weeks of effort. If you have any netwinder images, even outdated ones, that'd be nice for a quick fix to the handbooks. I've marked the ARM installation instructions (handbook) as unmaintained/obsolete. I would be very pleased if someone took the time to update our ARM documents so we can put them back, but for now, there's little point in keeping this open otherwise. |
