this is not gnome. Don't touch things when you are not certain of the effect it has, thanks. Can't reproduce. Are you in audio group? Are your home directory permissions correct? You can do something like: # chown -R user:group ~/user (Has this been reported upstream?) I'm in the audio group and every file in my /home/user directory belongs to my user (and I have the rights to read/write .gmpc directory too).
