using openoffice for the first time you will be prompted for your full name and a registration. however there's the possibility to register never, which i prefer.

whenever you reinstall openoffice, because of an minor update or even a change in use flags, you will be prompted again.

this behaviour bothers me. as openoffice installs several dot-directories in your home (one for each major-version) it's ok to ask again after upgrading to another major-version.

I guess you are talking about openoffice-bin and not openoffice, as the later never asks you about registration.

Besides that: openoffice-bin uses the upstream binaries and asking for registration is the way Sun wants it, there is no possibility at all for us to change this
