Hello, i can confirm this bug i have the exact same problem. I have the same problem. Maybe this is a possible fix: http://www.phoronix.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16173 but I haven't tested it yet. testing it now... also examine: http://liquorix.net/patches/FGLRX-2.6.29-9.2-5.diff (In reply to comment #5) > also examine: http://liquorix.net/patches/FGLRX-2.6.29-9.2-5.diff > I am currently testing the above patch, compiled and installed fine, seems to operate normally. I don't know if this is related, but while OpenGL works, playing videos locks up the system hard. Carry over blockers when marking dupe bug please. Is there any progress on this bug? Are ATI drivers still broken? I'm using a local overlay with the patch supplied by Eric, but what's the ETA on a fix in portage? Is it ATI's fault or something broken in portage packaging? (In reply to comment #13) > Is there any progress on this bug? Are ATI drivers still broken? ATI sucking again. Support the Open Graphics Project. :) ping... 2.6.29 is planned to go stable on 23rd may, would be nice to see this fixed (In reply to comment #16) > ping... 2.6.29 is planned to go stable on 23rd may, would be nice to see this > fixed > I gave up on waiting, switched to radeon driver, used drm-9999999 for 2d acc, beside not able to play games, it work ok, better then the official drivers. goodbye amd/ati. i switched to nvidia. this bug is just a stopper. the nvidia-driver is really fabulous. just do emerge nvidia-drivers, and it works. it even has a nice (working) settings-interface. nvidia-settings.
