Description Randall Wald 2009-03-16 19:04:35 UTC
The Weka data mining package has updated to version 3.6.0; the latest version in Portage is 3.5.8. This isn't a simple "rename the ebuild and redigest" bump, though; I tried that already and it doesn't work. The new source has a test suite and a directory structure modified to reflect this. Even accounting for this, the package I compiled did not actually run. Someone with a greater understanding of writing ebuilds for Java programs needs to take a look at this.

I initially added it to java-overlay for testing but unit tests are missing data files (Reported upstream: https://sourceforge.net/tracker2/?func=detail&aid=2704314&group_id=5091&atid=105091) so are not enabled.

Upstream does not seem to use their bug-tracker; instead, most development takes place on their mailing list (https://list.scms.waikato.ac.nz/mailman/listinfo/wekalist). I would send a message there, but I don't really understand the problem well enough to field responses.

Thanks for pointing that out. I posted and upstream fixed the issue in SCM and nightlies. I'll bump it as is and add src_test in the next version.

Added to tree. Thanks for the help.

It looks like you forgot to migrate over the weka-3.6.0-build.xml.patch patch into the /usr/portage/dev-util/weka/files/ directory.

Committed. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Record of a the patch not applying

The newly-committed copy of weka-3.6.0-build.xml.patch doesn't seem to be applying cleanly; I've attached a copy of my /var/tmp/portage/dev-util/weka-3.6.0/temp/weka-3.6.0-build.xml.patch-6430.out, but it isn't very informative.

Hopefully fixed this time.
