Description Roman Frolow 2009-03-09 21:37:34 UTC
after emerging and running, sonata connects to mpd server. Than i can play some songs.

If i want to edit id3 tag, it says i have to set music folder. But why, if it already plays files from /var/lib/mpd/music ?

I don't use Sonata but I would guess that it simply cannot know where mpd loads its music files from - mpd only reveals to its clients the relative path from the music_directory variable's path to the files, but not the music_directory itself.

exactly, and that's why there's the Music dir option in the preferences dialog

I think this bug can be marked fixed if these patches http://nomius.blogspot.com/2008/01/mpd-whats-missing.html are added upstream and sonata will use this.

No. those patches are extremely outdated, gmpc-0.18 has a plugin for that (gmpc-tagedit), sonata supports tag editing directly, you just have to set the music directory in the preferences.
