 KEYWORDS="x86"
 DEPEND="=media-video/avifile-0.7.37*"

media-video/avifile/avifile-0.7.37.20030522-r2.ebuild contains:
 KEYWORDS="~x86 ~sparc"

emerge doesn't like this.

Workaround: mask vcr-1.10 (e.g. $PORTDIR_OVERLAY)

i've come across this too .. dunno if avifile is ready for stable though?

seems to work (compiles at least) with avifile 0.7.38 so its a candiate for unmasking if 0.7.38 is here to stay

I don't use vcr, but can someone confirm that it would be save to change the
DEPEND to >=media-video/avifile-0.7.37  ?

i made the updated ebuild and tested it with newer avifile ... it worked fine for me ... so i'd say do it
