Description Eric 2009-03-04 17:11:18 UTC
Following the instructions here (bottom of the page):
http://en.gentoo-wiki.com/wiki/Network_profiles_with_arping

If I append the MAC address, it fails to use the profile.

I have included my /etc/conf.d/net in an attachment (though I removed the section for wireless)

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. using the included /etc/conf.d/net
2. run /etc/init.d/net restart
3. note that dhcp is used rather than the profile's static IP

Actual Results:
the fallback profile is used (dhcp)

Expected Results:
the "home" profile should be used.

Please upgrade your system to openrc/baselayout-2.

If this issue still exists after you upgrade, please re-open this bug
