Description Chenli Tien 2009-02-28 15:04:47 UTC
I have eSATA/USB storage devices which can be mounted automatically under gnome, after I emerge hal-0.5.11-r8 on Feb. 22, they cannot be mounted automatically. These devices can be hot plugged with the USB interfaces still.

The system can detect the plugged eSATA device so the SATA drivers are ok (ahci and sata-sil), however it doesn't mount the eSATA storage devices anymore. The devices can be mounted manually however, is this a spec change?

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.emerge with hal-0.5.11-r8 or later
2.plug an eSATA storage device
3.the device can be found in /proc/scsi/scsi, however it is not mounted as USB storage devices.

Actual Results:
user need to mount the device with root privilege.

Though, perhaps you should simply add an fdi file,
which marks that drive as removable.
