The dejagnu dependency was added years ago for octave 2.1. Octave 3 compiles and seems to works fine without dejagnu (which depends on expect, which depends on tk and tcl, etc.). A quick google search suggests that the dejagnu tests were replaced by other kind of tests, so the dependency is obsolete.
