$ cat updates.lst
................................................

These are the packages that I would merge, in order:

Calculating dependencies  ...done!
[ebuild  N    ] sys-devel/gnuconfig-20030708
[ebuild     U ] sys-devel/libtool-1.4.3-r1 [1.4.1-r10]
[ebuild     U ] app-shells/bash-2.05b-r5 [2.05b-r3] -nls -build
[ebuild     U ] dev-lang/python-2.2.3-r1 [2.2.2] +readline -tcltk +berkdb -bootstrap -build -doc
[ebuild     UD] sys-apps/portage-2.0.48-r5 [2.0.48-r6] -build
*** Portage will stop merging at this point and reload itself,
    recalculate dependencies, and complete the merge.

!!! aux_get(): ebuild for '<dev-perl/Test-Simple-0.47-r1' does not exist at:
!!!            /usr/portage/<dev-perl/Test-Simple/Test-Simple-0.47-r1.ebuild
Comment 2 Rainer Größlinger (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-08-06 06:37:47 UTC
Hi,

this is a known problem with .48-r6, please update to -r7 or downgrade to -r5 (-r6 isn't in the tree anymore, anyway)
Comment 3 Narada Sage 2003-08-06 14:33:15 UTC
As recommended by scandium I've downgraded the production machine to -r5 from -r6 and all is now well. Please close this bug. When is -r7 moving to stable? Many thanks and sorry for the hassle.
