Reassigning to mozilla and x11 herds. Unfortunately, that's not a bug, that's how X11 works. Not much we can do about it. All the toolkits (gtk, qt, xul, motif, ...) would have to be fixed to allow what you want and I don't really see that happening as it would likely break other things. So whenever any application has some context menu these keys are dropped? I thought These keys generate events via evdev or acpi? Also all the additional blue keys like next song, magnifier etc. share this beaviour, but the brightness-keys are handled correctly. As far as I understand these keys do not neccessarily generate keyboard events.
