Description Jesse Adelman 2003-08-04 13:05:58 UTC
I hate it when dependency problems just make Portage emerge -puD worlds bomb out
completely, rather than only affecting the problematic ebuilds... This may be a
dupe of othe bugs, but my context is slightly different, so I thought I'd post a
sperate bug. Apologies if this is not the correct decision.

Thanks!

These are the packages that I would merge, in order:

Calculating world dependencies \
emerge: there are no masked or unmasked ebuilds to satisfy
"=net-analyzer/nessus-core-2.0.6a".

!!! Problem with ebuild net-analyzer/nessus-2.0.6a-r1
!!! Possibly a DEPEND/*DEPEND problem.

!!! Depgraph creation failed.
homeserver root # emerge -p nessus

Comment 2 Thomas Preissler 2003-08-04 14:29:26 UTC
The problem is, that "nessus-core-2.0.6a-r1" is installed, nessus-plugins-2.0.6a.ebuild states:

  DEPEND="=net-analyzer/nessus-core-${PV}"

so, nessus-plugins expects nessus-core-2.0.6a, without "r1".

If you do

  DEPEND=">=net-analyzer/nessus-core-${PV}"

emerge -upD world works fine. :-))

Obviously my fault.
