Bug 258848 – upgrade to qt-4.5.0_rc1 broke inputing of polish characters in some qt apps

I noticed this in Kadu IM and in lastfm client (media-sound/lastfmplayer). For example i get "Å" instead of "ł", or "ó" instead of "ó". They can be *displayed* fine, only I can't input them from the keyboard.

All programs based on KDE libs work fine, it's happening only with pure qt apps.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.emrge qt 4.5 rc1
2.set keyboard map to polish
3.try to input a polish character in one of these apps, with e.g. alt+l or alt+o

This happen on all UTF-8 based encoding. Actually on Russian I have same problem with net-im/psi-0.12. PyQt4-based apps unaffected.

You can always inform directly upstream by filling this form

I would do it but i am not using polish or russian layouts so I am not able to describe the problem in details

So , fill an upstream task. They might not be aware of this :)

Re-open if this problem is still valid using the latest 4.5.0 packages

I haven't seen this in a long time now. It's either fixed, or all affected apps have been patched up.
