Upstream released version 3.3.8p3 which fixes Tcl bug 249479. I have tested this application on my x86_64 machine and it seems to work fine for my use.

Unfortunately, the publicly facing IBM z/OS system seems to have gone under. I am unaware of any way for arch testers, and other interested parties, to test this unless they directly have access to zSeries hardware.

How about putting this ebuild into Portage and masking it until it's been verified to work correctly?
