Bug 25730 – After emerging abuse_sdl on 1.4_rc4 it doesn't work.

After emerging abuse_sdl on 1.4_rc4 it doesn't work. First I found that
directory permissions (/usr/games/; /usr/games/abuse;
/usr/share/games;/usr/share/games/abuse/*) are 750 (games:games). After fixing
those abuse still doesn't want to run. I think there's something with the data
paths, but I don't have the time to check thorougly.

Did you add yourself to the games group?  Games on Gentoo are assigned to games:games by default.

What erros are you getting?  "It doesn't work" doesn't help very much.

I missed that with the games group. But now is everything ok, but abuse_sdl still doesn't work. I get the message:

please post the following information:
create a log file of the game run ...
`strace -f -s 1024 abuse_sdl >& logfile`, then bzip2 it and attach it to the bug

next, make sure you're in the games group ... the way the game reports 'couldnt find sfx dir' means either game didnt emerge correctly or there are permissions problems ... if you run `groups`, you should see 'games' listed

remerge using abuse_sdl-0.7.0-r2 and be sure to follow the note at the end
regarding ~/.abuse.

i hit the same prob mr bones fixed (so thats cool) but the prob i encountered was that the game would segfault on initial load, resulting in the default config that was bj0rked ...

so unless your game segfaults too we can leave this closed ... if yours likes to do the SDL segfault parachute thang, we'll re-open it and i'll finish tracking down that bug

Forgot to remove ~/.abuse dir. After removing game works perfectly.
